Laynie's Birthday

OK. I know. It's been a long time. Well, here are the pictures you've all been waiting for. Laynie's 1st birthday. Thanks to Mimzy and Grandma, we had a very cute party for her with her closest friends (our family, Jodi, Ann, and Deb). She got to eat an entire cupcake, which she enhaled as soon as she figured out she was allowed to eat it. Laynie is still having a ton of fun with all of her new toys, including a lot of pig related items, a talking stuffed dog, a wooden barn puzzle (with a goat in it of course), a xylaphone, and a ball that's makes entirely too much noise while it rolls itself around the house. She also got a lot of way cute clothes including an adorable pair of pink overalls with a horse on it from her Aunt Robben and Uncle Zak. Mimzy showed up with an entire suitcase just for Laynie. She loves the pink boa, pink tutu and magic wand that Mimzy got fo her. (Gee, I think Libby really wants her to be a little princess). All in all, it was a great visit! I'm also including a little video of Laynie walking so you can all see how well she gets around. We've really had to baby proof the house because she is into everything! We can't keep her still and she keeps trying to run which usually results in her falling or whacking her head on something. She spends most of her time looking like a prize fighter. As for the rest of our life, the clinic is coming along nicely and we should be ready for our open house in April. Simon is working really hard. Spring is here which means lots of babies and lots of vaccines. The night before last he had to help deliver a foal in the middle of the night. And early this morning (around 4:00am) he had to help deliver some goats. Luckily, he's had a lot of experience with that. He continues to learn as he works. Yesterday, he castrated his first Llama. It went better than expected and now he knows that llama's react to sedatives very quickly. I'm keeping busy trying to get the clinic finished for the open house. We just did our big mailer and have gotten a lot of good response from that. I just have to get a few decorations for our bare walls and some chairs for the clinic. But, I've got everything lined up and planned in my head. Anyway, sorry it took so long to get these pictures up. Hope you all enjoy them and I'll try to do better next time.
