Laynie's Day

Friday was a very big day. Laynie got baptized. She did very well!! We had a private ceremony while Simon's family was here. Pastor Carol of the Deerfield Community Church did the honors. Zak and Robben are the godparents and they are very happy for their new job! Laynie looked really cute (as usual). She wore the same Christening dress that Simon and Zak wore. Eleanor added pink flowers to the knitted dress to make it a little more girly. She also wore the handkerchief hat that Ruth made. It's a hat that can be later used when Laynie gets married. It turns into a handkerchief that she can use on her wedding day. It's very neat! It was a very nice ceremony and it was great to have everyone here for it. Also, yesterday Peter took the plunge and got a tattoo. (Libby is such a bad influence!) He got a sun on his forearm. Now my crazy in-laws have shown that they are truly young at heart! How great for them! Unfortunately, we are now headed for the airport to take most of the family back to Colorado. We had a great visit and we were so happy to have everyone here. Thank you all for coming and being a part of Laynie's first Christmas and her Baptism. It meant so much to Simon and me and I'm sure Laynie will enjoy looking back at all of the pictures.
